Similar to July 2024, the energies of August will be particularly affected by Mars, and for August, we zone in on the Mars-Jupiter conjunction on August 14, 2024 as the emblem event for the month.
Feel free to watch the video version below, or read on:
Before we dive into the main event, let's review the major aspects happening in August:
8/2 Venus square Uranus
8/4 Venus enters Virgo
8/4 Mercury retrograde until 8/28
8/7 Mercury conjunct Venus
8/14 Mars conjunct Jupiter
8/18 Mercury square Uranus
8/19 Full Moon in Aquarius
8/19 Venus square Jupiter
8/19 Venus oppose Saturn
8/19 Jupiter square Saturn
8/22 Venus square Mars
8/27 Venus trine Uranus
8/29 Venus enters Libra
On Aug 14, 2024, Mars and Jupiter will conjunct in Gemini and in the 10th house of the west coast collective chart.
As I mentioned in the Mars-Uranus conjunction post, this Mars-Jupiter conjunction is the continuation of the story arc, and the theme of this segment is “mobilization.” When Mars and Jupiter come together, it’s about the mobilization of forces for a particular defined goal. Jupiter is the general, and Mars the infantry, so the necessary forces for advancement are aligned in the conjunction. Given their position in Gemini, we can surmise that no matter the circumstances, it would be about strategically placing oneself to benefit in business and commerce, and anything transactional.
As Mars-Jupiter looks to Mercury and Venus in Virgo 12th, Saturn in Pisces 7th and Moon in Sagittarius 4th both look to Jupiter, then to Mercury-Venus, we see strategic alliances made and perhaps rekindled in order to protect a foundational ideology, upon which one bases their sense of security. And because Mercury/Venus is in the 12th house, the alliance could very well be a past adversary turned current friend, in order to secure the “territory”
Another more archaic interpretation is “sleeping with the enemy” or accepting an arranged marriage to increase political clout and social influence of oneself and one’s family.
As you can see, all of this is very “strategic” with little personal feelings and emotions involved. Everything is aligned to benefit certain outer purpose, social reputation, or some desired legacy. No judgment here of course, as the energy points to naturally doing what’s necessary to secure one’s reputation and legacy through expanding allegiance.
The Sun-Moon trine in the 4th-12th house ensures the motive is for the benefit of the clan (family, enterprise, community group, political party, etc.), the caution here is Pluto 5th quincunx Mercury 12th. Are we in full awareness of the fine prints of this power alliance? With Pluto still in retrograde motion, the suggestion is to leave some wiggle room for future flexibility, not because either parties would actually act out of malice, but that circumstances might force this alliance to shift again down the road once Pluto completes the retrograde for the year and comes direct 10/11 in Capricorn and then ingress Aquarius again on 11/19. You’ll see that these dates sandwich the USA presidential elections. So we might expect shifts in alliances before AND after the elections.
In other words, there is an undertone of fated romance in the Mars-Jupiter conjunction chart. With overt signs of compatibility in foundational ideals, partnership expectations, and mutual willingness to do the work, the temptation is to “seal the deal.” And with Uranus fanning for spontaneity and sudden change in the 9th house, one may feel the push for making the alliance official sooner than later (in whatever way your situation applies). But again, because Pluto is not done with the retrograde, energies will shift drastically again come 10/11-11/19, and one would want to leave room for flexibility and change at that time. Meaning: don’t bind yourself to anything legal if you are able to hold it off. Just like the previous forecasts, I’m not talking about the day-to-day business transactions that needs to happen. Buying an iPhone when your current one broke is just fine even if a “contract” is involved. I’m talking about the major contracts that would hold you accountable in major ways and in the long-term. Those life-changing signatures we need to hold off and just sit with it for now.
So yes, mobilize for any sort of alliance as you see fit to secure your placement in the world and safety at home. Just remember to keep things fluid and that you keep the alliance flexible to respond to shifts down the road. This does not necessarily have to be cautionary, because intent-wise there may be no malice on either side. Just that circumstances would probably shift, and even if the alliance remains, it would go through adjustments (which of course can be good and natural depending on the situation).
Then on August 19, we see the alliance grinding through kinks with the Mars-Jupiter now squaring Saturn and Venus in opposition. And to jack-up the intensity, Full moon happens on the same day to square Uranus.
What's great about this chart is that squares and oppositions are highly manifesting when we put in the work. Especially as this chart is ultimately controlled by the Sun in Leo in the 9th, we would expect a spectacular show of ideologies to win over the most audience, partnerships, or followers. This is a friendly competition of the best idea that can 1. bring service to the masses, 2. ground one's own personal visions from dreamland into practical reality, and 3. reinvest in learning and research for the betterment of the next generation. Along with Mercury retrograde, we have to be aware of making promises that we cannot keep. Remember, it's one thing to paint a beautiful picture and call it best-case scenario (which is necessary for goal-setting and recruitment), and quite another to call it a guarantee. And the art of balancing fact and fiction (both are needed) would be the grind in this story arc of gaining popularity.
And so we end August with a nice Venus-Uranus trine on 8/27 that speaks to an agreeable grounding of some mutually agreed resolution around that time. Then 2 days later, we see Mercury coming out of the retrograde, and we're able to move forward with the new alliances that we've gained. While any sort of long-term commitment is still not advised, there is a sense here of reaching common ground enough to wade forward together through any further challenges that come before Pluto finally ingresses into Aquarius for the last time this Thanksgiving.
By the end of the month, Venus enters its own sign of Libra, poised to conjunct South Node, trine Pluto, then trine Jupiter in September, setting us up for a sense of grace and balance with our partnerships before summer's end.
Until then, have a lovely August.
Namaste❤️
